Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing

A printing method that sprays ink directly into fabric, ideal for detailed, full-color POD designs.

Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing uses specialized inkjet technology to print a design straight onto a garment's fibers. It handles high detail and unlimited colors with no per-color cost, which makes it the default method for most POD apparel — especially complex, photographic or gradient artwork.

DTG prints are soft to the touch because the ink soaks into the fabric rather than sitting on top. Print quality depends on the garment: DTG performs best on 100% cotton, which is why blanks like Comfort Colors and Bella+Canvas are popular in POD.

ExampleA detailed, multi-color cartoon design is printed with DTG onto a cotton tee, capturing every shade with no extra cost.
