How Etsy fees work in 2026

Etsy charges three fees on every sale: a $0.20 listing fee (charged when you list and each time the listing renews after a sale), a 6.5% transaction fee applied to the item price plus the shipping you charge, and a payment processing fee (3% + $0.25 for US sellers; rates vary slightly by country).

If a buyer arrives through Offsite Ads (Etsy's ads on Google, Facebook, Instagram…), an extra 15% fee applies to that order — reduced to 12% and mandatory once your shop passes $10,000 USD in sales over 365 days.

For Print on Demand sellers the math that matters is net profit: price − Etsy fees − what your POD provider charges for the product and shipping. A $25 tee with an $11 blank and free shipping nets about $11.50 organic — but only about $7.70 if the sale came through Offsite Ads. Price with that spread in mind.

Questions people ask

How much does Etsy take per sale in 2026?

Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and a payment processing fee (3% + $0.25 in the US). If the sale comes from Offsite Ads, an extra 15% applies (12% for shops over $10,000/year). For a typical $25 sale, total fees are roughly $2.85–$6.60.

Does the Etsy transaction fee apply to shipping?

Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and the payment processing fee apply to the item price plus the shipping you charge the buyer.

Is the Offsite Ads fee mandatory?

Shops that made under $10,000 USD in the last 365 days can opt out of Offsite Ads (15% fee on attributed orders). Shops above $10,000 are enrolled automatically at a reduced 12% fee and cannot opt out.

Where do these fee numbers come from?

From Etsy's official public fee schedule (etsy.com/legal/fees). The calculator loads the current values from a maintained data file, so when Etsy changes a fee, the calculator updates without rewriting the tool.
